| Walking and workouts, for great exercise! |
FADE IN EXT. MULTIPLE LOCATIONS - DAY Preparations for the massive challenge on 13 July are in full swing! JJ has lost almost 5 kg due to lots of exercise. Not kidding. Despite my ankle ligament problem, I can still do certain forms of exercise. I often go to the Tampines Stadium to watch football matches, supporting the Stags. I still do, but I now go to the Tampines Stadium much more often, because I also go there to walk around the track! ![]() Walking a round around the track takes about 5 minutes. I usually walk 4 rounds per session (which takes 20 minutes). There are days which I feel particularly ambitious and go for 6 rounds. While walking, I reflect about my life and admire the scenery. <rant>Mum! Please buy me a proper mobile phone! That the previous one died was not my fault (it was over four years old). Surely you can get a better replacement than a second-hand phone that cannot even record and play music? Lack of C-pop in school and while exercising is severely affecting my mood! Sigh.</rant> There is also the school stadium, which is of the same size. Breaks just became less boring! Ditto for P.E.E. lessons. ![]() Several friends and teachers suggested I go to a gym. Why should I go to a gym when there are free fitness corners that are more suitable for my weak body? My favourite has to be the one at Tampines Block 812, near SHSS. There are 6 stations and I spend about 5 minutes at each station, for a total of 30 minutes. ![]() Doing sit-ups can be fun when there is no NAPFA-test pressure to do them as fast as possible. I take about a minute to do 20 sit-ups. Sucks, I know, and my stomach hurts, but nevertheless a great warm-up. ![]() No, this is not a shooting target! This is for comfortably stretching the upper body. Place the hands on the knobs and move them clockwise, then anti-clockwise, as far as possible. Begone, shoulder aches! ![]() Hold tight, swing the lower body left, swing the lower body right and do not fall off. May my stomach fats swing away! ![]() Swinging my legs back and forth. Whee! But I have a problem! This station was near the barriers and the swing often hit the barriers! My legs did not suffer any injuries but I bet the residents did not appreciate the noise pollution! ![]() Appearances can be deceptive. Can a bicycle be run by moving the handlebars forward and backward? Yes, this is how this bicycle is supposed to work. For great justice, er, arm muscles. ![]() On the other handm this bicycle, like most bicycles, is to be sat on and pedalled with the legs. Great for cooling down after half an hour of exercise. Being JJ, I take the opportunity to read while pedalling. Potential stalkers will be disappointed to be informed that I know several other tracks and fitness corners, the locations of which I shall not disclose. I also wanted to take tai chi lessons from Mr Chew, play tennis with Xinying and pick up swimming, but none of these plans materialised. Nevertheless, my current exercise regime works for me and I will continue with said regime, for the exercise does make me feel fresher and gets rid of muscle aches. FADE OUT |
