Taking tests...er, IQ tests...

FADE IN
INT. JJ'S ROOM - NIGHT

As part of my preparations for the massive challenge on 13 July, I took fifteen online IQ tests. The results for ten of them are as follows:Five scores were excluded from the sample because:There are other factors which affect the accuracy of an IQ test. These include the breadth and depth of questions asked, how difficult the questions are, the algorithm for conversion of absolute results to IQ scores (which are relative to others of the same age group) and the standard deviation of the test. Many of the above tests did not ask for my age, which is important in the calculation of IQ scores. A low standard deviation means most scores will be close to 100, while a high standard deviation leads to more very high and very low scores; most modern, professional IQ tests have a standard deviation of about 15.

Of the ten scores included in the sample, the highest score is 161, the lowest score is 122, the arithmetric mean is 137, the arithmetric median is 135.5 and the arithmetric mode is 146. Assuming a standard deviation of 15, an IQ of 130 is very close to the 98th percentile norm of MENSA. In future, I may take an official IQ test to apply for membership in MENSA, but for now, I am satisfied because I am well prepared for one aspect of the challenge on 13 July.
