Really Random Reminiscences II
>FADE IN
INT. MULTIPLE LOCATIONS - DAY

More random updates about my life:
  • The challenge on 13 July was harder than expected. Some parts hurt. Ran out of time for some other parts. Thankfully I was well prepared. I got a D, which means more tests are needed. Have a few more months to work on my computing skills, so the JavaScript series shall continue!
  • JJ scored 66 (B) for Maths! Yippee ya ya yippee yippee ya! But I am very disappointed with my other results. 50 (D) for GP, 46 (E) for History, scraped through Literature with a 45 (E) and failed Economics for the first time, scoring 42 (S). Intensive studying must commence soon!
  • Today, I represented TP at the Inter-Gavel Competition organised by NUS High. To be honest, our club has better speakers (such as Gab), so I was surprised at being chosen, but I was determined to seize the opportunity and prepare well. I must familiarise myself with the route from Tampines to there if I want to enter FASS; the events in my life during 0830-0900 on 170710 could be made into a 30-minute short film titled How to Get Lost in Clementi! Although I did not win a prize, what matters is that I could speak to hundreds about a cause I care about and, based on their comments, I managed to influence their mindsets. What a wonderful learning experience! In addition, I was surprised at how (after giving my speech) I managed to start and sustain conversations with complete strangers without excessive awkward turtleness. In fact, I got hugged by an NJC girl! Yippee ya ya yippee yippee ya!
  • Is there an award for being horrible at doing housework? If so, JJ would certainly be in contention for said award. The light in my room is now flickering, but I hope my mum does not ask me to change the lightbulb. I do not screw things in. I screw things up. This is straining my relationship with my mother and, more importantly, making studying and doing homework difficult. I must start studying in school and make school a more viable studying environment for myself.
  • I heard from my juniors that a girl from their batch, Jazzlyn Tei, met with a serious accident and is in critical condition in hospital, unable to eat, talk or recognise anyone. Although I do not really know her, I will pray for her and I hope you will too.
  • Last but not least, I have been given a golden opportunity to be a published writer! I will spend the rest of the month on a three-page story which, if deemed good enough, will be included in a compilation that may be sold in bookstores. Since this is partially related to my community work, I cannot disclose further details.
