| Happy Birthday, Singapore and Fyodor! |
|
FADE IN INT. JJ'S ROOM - AFTERNOON HAPPY 45TH BIRTHDAY TO MY BELOVED LION CITY, SINGAPORE! <3 I posted the following poem on my Facebook Wall: Count on me, Singapore! My friends and I will stand together, hear the lion roar! I want to shine for Singapore, for this is my song! For Singapore is where I belong, for this is where I know it's home! Yes, the poem is built from lyrics from national songs. Took only twenty minutes to compose it (compared to eight hours for real ones like My Turn). But what matters is that I love Singapore, every day, not just on National Day. Singapore has its flaws, but so does every country. I wanted to watch the National Day Parade but since my mother took me out for a National Day event, I did not have the time to watch the parade. I promise to watch the parade next year, if I am still alive then! Anyway, after the event, I went to the nearby shopping centre and rented a DVD of WALL-E. Hence I have decided to start a new series, about movies. Approximately every five days, there will be a post about a movie (whose DVD I had rented and watched), with commentary from a (hopefully) different perspective. HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY TO MY NEW FRIEND FYODOR! <3 I posted the following poem on her Facebook Wall: Hello Claire! Wonderful people like you are rare. Happy birthday! That's all I want to say. I wanted to compose a haiku, just for you, but my brain won't allow me to. I would write more, but as the poem says, my brain won't allow me to, so I simply hope that Singapore continues to soar and Fyodor (a Malaysian) will emigrate here. FADE OUT |
