Need a Plan B!

FADE IN
INT. TAMPINES JUNIOR COLLEGE - MORNING

The start of another school week. Starting with P.E.E. lesson. Dear CGH, please get my new in-sole done quickly, so I can do more exercise! Now even two rounds of walking around the school stadium makes my legs hurt badly. Looks like this ankle ligament of mine will never get better.

So what can I do during P.E.E. lessons? Study? Brain is still on strike. Nap? Yes, I did. Head to the canteen or a quiet place? P.E.E. teachers do not allow, but I do so anyway. Guess who I bumped into on the way? Helen, that awesome junior whom I always enjoy chatting with. We sat at a staircase and talked about...the A-Levels.

Per her suggestion, we both took out a piece of paper and wrote at the top: "What would I do if I failed my A-Levels and TP does not let me come back to retake?"

I stared at the paper for five minutes.

Then I wrote "commit suicide".

Then I stared at the paper for another five minutes.

Then I tore it up.

Do not ask me why I wrote that. To be honest, I have no idea what came over me.

I remember how Helen used to joke: "If I fail A-Level, I go back TP and be canteen auntie!" This time, she joked: "JJ, if you fail A-Level, go and be SBS bus driver! No need to buy new uniform, can use your TP one!"

What a terrifying prospect.

Thinking about bus drivers and buses made me miss TWS. I wish he had come to TP. Well, we are meeting on Wednesday.

At least Helen had a better answer. She plans to go to music school. Hope she becomes a successful singer.

I really need to start thinking of a better answer. Considering my current situation, retaking my A-Levels is no longer my Plan B, but my Plan A, so I need a Plan B. Otherwise I may really commit suicide if TP do not let me retake.
